The Dalai Lama has a new instagram account. The immensely popular social tool to share images via your smartphone has been a runaway success and offers the user a tool to share photo’s and events (much like twitter does) however, the tool focuses on the photograph. While the user can add a comment to their photo, and share comments on other users photos the experience is highly visual.
What is interesting is the Dalai Lama’s continued move into social networks to reach a much larger audience. There is clearly more behind the approach, notedly because the Dalai Lama is often seen in the photo’s. Its hard to imagine him stopping the activities to tell someone to take a snapshot of the photo and share the experience for him.
